1. Who we are

Buy Big Red is operated by Perk Studios LLC in connection with the Big Red Rebuild, the renovation of Memorial Stadium at the University of Nebraska. We sell original fixtures and furnishings removed from the stadium to fans, alumni and season ticket holders.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through buygbr.com, why we collect it, and what we do and do not do with it. It covers our text message programme in particular, in sections 3 through 6.

2. What we collect

We collect only what an order or a request from you requires.

  • Contact details you give us: name, email address, mobile phone number, and shipping or pickup address.
  • Order information: what you bought, the amount, and the fulfilment status. Payment card details are handled by Shopify and its payment processors and never reach our systems.
  • Requests you make, such as asking us to send a particular piece to your inbox or phone so you can finish later.
  • Basic usage data: pages visited, the referring link or QR code, approximate region, and device type. We use this to see which pieces people are looking at and whether the site works on stadium wifi.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not buy contact lists.

3. Mobile and text message information

If you join our text message programme, we collect and store the following, so that we can send the messages you asked for and prove that you asked for them:

  • Your mobile phone number, in E.164 format.
  • The date and time of your consent, recorded in UTC.
  • The source of your consent — whether you checked the box at checkout, on your account page, on our signup page, or texted START to (402) 701-4972.
  • The exact wording of the consent statement shown to you at that moment, stored word for word, so that a later change to our wording cannot rewrite what you actually agreed to.
  • The IP address and browser user agent recorded with a web opt-in, where available.
  • Your message history and delivery status with us — what we sent, when, and whether the carrier delivered it.

Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us, and the consent box is never pre-checked.

4. How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • send order confirmations and receipts;
  • send shipping, delivery and pickup-readiness updates;
  • notify you about an issue with your order, such as a backorder or a removal delay;
  • send occasional promotional offers and news about pieces coming out of the stadium, if you opted in to those;
  • answer your questions and provide customer support;
  • meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, including proving consent if a carrier or regulator audits our messaging programme.

5. How mobile information is shared

This section states our commitment on mobile information, in full:

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

In practice, the only parties that handle your mobile number are the service providers we need in order to deliver a message to you — our messaging provider, Twilio, and the mobile carriers themselves — and the providers that run our store and support desk. They act on our instructions and may not use your number for their own marketing.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights or someone else’s safety.

6. Opting out and getting help

You can stop our text messages at any time, and it takes effect immediately.

  • Reply STOP to any message from us. STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT are all honoured automatically.
  • Or uncheck the text message box in your account settings.
  • For help, reply HELP to any message, or email us at support@raregoods.com.

To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. Email and text are separate agreements: opting out of one does not opt you out of the other, and opting in to one never enrols you in the other.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. We keep consent records for the life of the messaging programme and for four years afterwards, because that is the window in which we may need to prove that you agreed to receive messages.

You may ask us to delete your personal information by emailing support@raregoods.com. We will do so unless we are required to keep it. If you have opted out of messages, we retain the opt-out itself so that we do not contact you again by mistake.

8. Security

Contact details are stored in an access-controlled database that is not reachable from the browser, and are transmitted over TLS. No system is perfect, but we hold no payment card data, which removes the most damaging thing we could lose.

9. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. We will not apply a material change retroactively to information we already hold without telling you first.
