The aluminium is removed, and underneath is the original bleacher plank — rare, very old, and in most cases not seen since it was covered. There are numbers etched into it marking the seats. That plank, with legs and feet crafted for it, is the bench.

How old any one plank is has never been documented, so nobody can tell you the year a particular bench dates from.

There is no vinyl covering on a bleacher bench. The padded seats are a different piece altogether.

Yes, by building them one at a time. Choose the first bench — its section, row and seats — and add it to your cart, then start again for the second. Seats picked across two rows in one go are drawn as a single bench, because a bench is one continuous plank.

Yes. Every piece was removed directly from Memorial Stadium during the Big Red Rebuild, not made to look like it was. Each item is documented in its original location before removal so its history stays connected to the stadium.

These are original pieces from a working stadium, not reproductions. Expect scratches, fading, marks, and other signs of years of use. We clean each piece and make it safe to handle, but we do not restore it to look new. The wear is part of its story.

The removal and handling fee varies by item based on the work required to remove, prepare, and handle it. Fees are shown clearly in your cart before checkout.

Items are released as they come out of Memorial Stadium, and different parts of the building come out at different times.

Anything that ships, ships after the season ends, and you will get an email with tracking the day it goes out.

Seats come out during Thanksgiving week. Once they are assembled and processed they will be ready for pickup in Lincoln in early 2027, by appointment — we will write to you when yours is ready. You do not need to chase us.

Yes, anywhere in the south end (Sections 14 to 20), the lower west side (Sections 21 to 31) or the red chairbacks (Sections 221 to 231) — you do not need to have held a ticket there. Go to buygbr.com/seats/pick, find your section on the map, and choose your row and seat numbers. They are held for you for 20 minutes while you check out; the minimum is 2 seats, side by side.

A seat of your own costs $350 in the bench sections and $400 for a red chairback. That figure includes $100 a seat for the work of taking out those particular seats — located, removed by hand, tagged and stored — and it replaces the usual removal and handling charge rather than adding to it.

If the seats you chose cannot be recovered intact, you choose between a full refund and other seats from the same sections with the $100-a-seat charge returned. Seats from anywhere else in the stadium are offered as pairs and cannot be chosen by number.

Not always. Many of the images on the site are artistic renditions and may not show the exact condition of the item you receive. Each rendition is based on photographs of the actual items inside Memorial Stadium.

Because these are original stadium pieces, condition and wear will vary from item to item.

If an item purchased during the presale cannot be successfully removed from Memorial Stadium, or is damaged during removal, you will receive a full refund.

Yes. If you cannot pick up your order yourself, someone else can pick it up on your behalf. They must bring the QR code included in your pickup confirmation email.

These are the red chairbacks — the ones with arm rests and a seat that folds up. They come to you as a two-seat bench, roughly 50 inches wide, 32 inches tall and 20 inches deep once it is standing.

For the drive home the feet come off and the seats fold up, which brings it down to about 50 inches wide, 32 inches tall and 14 inches deep.

A bleacher bench is built to the number of seats you buy, so the length is up to you: roughly 16 inches per seat. It stands 18 inches tall and the feet are 16 inches wide.

If you are not choosing particular seats, the bench comes in two lengths — four feet or six feet.

For a pair of red chairbacks, plan for something that will take 50 inches by 32 inches by 14 inches — the feet come off and the seats fold up for the drive. An SUV with the back seats down, or any pickup bed, is comfortable.

A bleacher bench is 18 inches tall with 16-inch feet and about 16 inches of length per seat, so a four-seat bench is a little over five feet long. Measure your load space against your own seat count before you come.

Bring someone to help lift. These are steel and hardwood, and they are heavier than they look.

No. Chairback pairs, bleacher benches and the other large pieces are collected in Lincoln — they are too big and too heavy to ship, and we would rather say so plainly than quote you a freight price that does not hold.

No. If an item is listed as pickup only, it must be picked up in Lincoln. Shipping is not available for stadium seats, chairs, or other large items.

Items marked “Shipping Available” can be shipped within the contiguous United States.
